About the program

The Development Squad program consists of 60 hours of training to prepare VBC members for national and international case competitions. It is run by external coaches from Deloitte, MBIE, Ernst & Young and RBNZ as well as senior VBC members and faculty with significant international case experience. Upon completion of the Development Squad program members are eligible for selection to national and international teams and receive further advanced training.

Two intakes of twelve students are conducted per year - so competition for positions is hot. Each year VBC appoints a Head Coach who is responsible for the selection of the two intakes. Your written application and performance at recent case competitions are the main criteria for application. Students of any academic background are strongly encouraged to apply. In the past we have seen exceptional talent from computer science, design, political science and maths students.
